Do you know the Crossover of Bills begins on 13 February?
“Crossover day” in the Virginia General Assembly is the day in the legislative session where bills must pass in their respective chambers in order to be considered by the other chamber. Simply put, a bill must pass in the House of Delegates before it can be considered in the Senate, and vice versa. After crossover, the only bills each chamber can consider must have already passed the other legislative chamber – the Senate can only hear House bills, and the House can only hear bills passed by the state Senate.
If a bill passes both legislative chambers, it is sent to the Governor Youngkin’s desk, where he will either veto it, sign it into law, or allow it to become law without his signature.
Check out the bills here: https://lis.virginia.gov/
Today, 30 January 2024, they are slated to vote on expanding Ranked Choice Voting and making membership in the Electronic Registration Information Center mandatory.

Featured Poll Watcher Training
The Elections are upon us, and we need Poll Watchers. Those who have been Poll Watchers this past June and last year only need Refresher training. Those new to Poll Watching will require training as outlined in the Virginia Code. Upon completion of training, you will receive a special authorization letter. In-Person and At-Home training are options. All trainings will require an RSVP and are in two parts. Unfortunately, the 5 September class (Part 1) was cancelled. You can take Part 2 before Part 1. I am waiting for details on which days will be Part 1 or Part 2. I’m guessing (12-19) and (19-26) will give you both parts. Tuesdays: 7 – 9 PMNew Poll Watchers: September: 12, 19 and 26 October: 3 (At-Home Only), 10, 17 and 24 Thursday: 7 – 8:30 PMRefresher Training: September: 14 October: Another class will be announced, if needed. Featured Support of Return to Excellence
The Republican National Committee has knocked it out of the park, again! They are committed to the many facets of Election Integrity, and they know a good foundation starts with “US” at the local level. They are counting on our dedication to bring Election Excellence to fruition and our commitment to stand firm and protect our founding values, especially “truth”.
Here’s what Tyler Bowden, RNC National Committeeman (AZ) had to say on Twitter:
“I am excited to share the official resolution “A Return to Excellence” was adopted without a single objection at this week’s RNC meeting. Very thankful to the warriors who are fighting on the front lines. This resolution makes it abundantly clear that any Republican aiding democrat election manipulation is not going to be tolerated— and the clear outline of what we do support:
— Having an auditable paper trail
— Supporting hand count procedures to audit votes
— Applauding those who perform hand counts
— Supporting precinct polling
— Opposing vote centers and demanding geographically defined voting and management
— Stopping drop boxes that are only placed in heavily Democrat areas
— Preventing further expansion of early voting that makes Election Day tabulation more complicated and delayed
— Stopping additional confusion with schemes like ranked choice voting
— Requiring IDs and citizenship for voting
Please read the RNC resolution for complete details. Our local FCRC GOP is counting on you to help us win in 2023 which will take us to our critical 2024 election to regain our country.
Grab a like-minded friend, two or three, a couple of family members, especially young adults or a like-minded co-worker. Together, we can make a difference!
We need Poll Watchers, Precinct Captains, outside Poll Workers, Door-Knockers, Mail Out assistance for postcards and letters, Phone-banking to call and encourage our base and others to staff our headquarters and other activities to raise funds to help our candidates win their elections.
Be an active part of the Victory Team volunteering to save our County with efforts spent right here at home where it matters most!
FCRC Celebrates National Poll Worker Recruitment Day
August 23 is National Poll Watcher Recruitment Day. FCRC knows that poll workers, or officers of election as they are called in Virginia, make elections work. We’re grateful for those who serve and hope that more Virginians will join them.
In Virginia, poll workers represent the Republican and Democratic Parties. FCRC recommends poll workers to the Fauquier County Electoral Board. The Board makes appointments, trains workers, and compensates them with a modest stipend.
If you would like to represent the Republican Party as a poll worker, please contact FCRC or fill out the form at bit.ly/gop-poll-worker
