Friday evening’s Town Limits Festival certainly started with a bang—actually, several of them—followed by high winds and torrential rain. Fortunately, our intrepid FCRC Republican Booth team had already erected the tent and was able to retreat to the safety of their cars as the storm passed through. Once the weather cleared, the crew quickly set everything back up and opened for the festivities that followed. Undaunted by the storm, festival goers began arriving around 5:30 p.m., and we were blessed with many visitors interested in our committee, our Republican primary candidates, and our very cool merchandise commemorating our country’s 250th birthday. As usual, our red balloons were a big hit with the kids, which gave us a terrific opportunity to engage with their parents. We handed out so many balloons that we ran out of helium—fortunately, only a few minutes before closing time. Many attendees stayed afterward to enjoy the fantastic fireworks display that evening. All in all, it was a great evening for everyone. Kudos and thanks to Barbara and Bo Tucker for leading our team, as well as to our outstanding volunteers: Annette McCullough, Fred Verdi, Peggy Keapproth, Lillian Read, Ron Nist, Jackie Sellers, and Tom Salter.
