THE VIRGINIA BUDGET:
DEMOCRATS WANT TO KILL THE GOLDEN GOOSE FOR POLITICAL GAIN
|
- THE VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY WILL RETURN ON JUNE 18 TO ADDRESS THE BUDGET
- THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA GOVERNMENT (CONTROLLED BY THE DEMOCRATS) WILL SHUT DOWN WITHOUT AN APPROVED BUDGET ON JULY 1 AT MIDNIGHT.
| | |
You may have heard that Virginia is barrelling towards a shutdown in the state government if a budget is not passed by end of June. And the reason? The Democrats, in complete control, are fighting again over how to generate more tax revenue and spend it on their favorite wasteful programs.
Did you know that under Republican Governor Youngkin’s administration, the Commonwealth had a $10 billion dollar budget surplus? Working with the General Assembly, roughly $9 billion was returned to the taxpayer, both citizens and businesses. The remaining surplus went to covering Virginia’s Medicaid shortfall and into refilling the state’s rainy day fund in case of an economic emergency.
Governor Youngkin built a strong, business-friendly approach with more jobs and increased business growth. Spanberger and the Democrat-controlled General Assembly, in just six months, have businesses closing, leaving and/or removing Virginia as a location of interest for expansion. Regarding the state budget, the State Senate under Louise Lucas (yes, the same one being investigated by the FBI), wants to tear up tax exemption contracts between the Commonwealth and the data center industry to get a hold of an additional $1.9 billion in revenue. The impact has been immediate with canceled projects and yes, there is a lot of misinformation being spread about data centers for left-wing political gain (and to undercut America’s growth by our enemies like the Chinese Communist Party HERE).
But why are the progressive Virginia Democrats pushing for this extra money? Hmm, our guess is to cover all the soaring costs related to public employee union expansion forced on local governments when they finally get collective bargaining passed. Nah, according to our liberal friends it’s “for the children” and to “protect us from climate change”. Remember when we were right about the Virginia Clean Economy Act?? VCEA Round Two has just landed.
| | |
NOW STOP AND LISTEN
ICE, ICE, BABY
WILL IT EVER STOP? YO, I DON’T KNOW
| | |
Another week of illegal aliens committing crime in Northern Virginia while our Governor “California Abby” Spanberger, who stated “her core duty as serving the common good and safeguarding the safety, health, and economic well-being of all Virginians”, fails exactly in every way to perform that duty.
And again, we see a criminal illegal immigrant with a lengthy criminal history and felony charge in Northern Virginia, released by Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano’s office into our community. Descano’s office failed to retain the criminal for federal ICE officials so he can be arrested and sent out of the country. So what does the illegal criminal do? Just as expected, he turns around and tries to rape a woman in a car garage in Arlington (HERE) ten days later. Descano is now the center of a Department of Justice investigation.
Meanwhile, Spanberger issues an Executive Order (No. 16) which she titles “A Safer Virginia for All”. The order is quite the opposite of safety by placing restrictions on federal civil immigration enforcement operations (ICE) on state-owned property and institutions. ICE officers are prohibited from accessing Virginia state property, and state agencies must establish guidelines for interacting with federal immigration authorities (how about just cooperate?). This is after she issued her first Executive Order in which Virginia State Police and other state law enforcement officials could no longer work with ICE under the 287(g) agreements (HERE).
According to the Department of Homeland Security, three out of every four suspects charged with murder in Fairfax County are illegal aliens. We should be supporting ICE, ICE, Baby and assisting the federal government in making our community safer. Not making it harder, Governor Spanberger!

2026 ELECTIONS
- IT IS OFFICIAL: TONY SABIO, GOP NOMINEE IN THE 8TH DISTRICT
- ARTHUR PURVES TO CHALLENGE PROGRESSIVE WALKINSHAW IN 11TH
- THREE CANDIDATES FOR 7TH CD GOP NOMINATION: VOTING BEGINS 6/19
- OH, NO – NOT ANOTHER SOROS LEFT WING DEM IN LOUDOUN COUNTY!
| | |
Want to run for public office in 2026 or 2027?
Reach out now to your local GOP Committee or SUVGOP@gmail.com!
| | |
It’s official. Tony Sabio, who started early and has been working hard to receive the GOP nomination to run against Democrat incumbent Don Beyer, is now on the ballot!
Four Democrats are challenging Beyer and stating he’s been in Congress for way too long. We agree.
Let’s all get behind Tony and bring real change to the 8th Congressional District. Tony is our Spencer Pratt (mayoral candidate in Los Angeles) ready to upend the long-time progressive Democrat hold on a great community.
Learn more about Tony’s campaign HERE.
| |
If there’s one man who knows how Fairfax County is run, backwards and forwards, it’s Arthur Purves. Arthur has been the President of the Fairfax County Taxpayers Alliance for almost 30 years. Arthur has received the GOP nomination and is challenging far-left progressive Democrat James Walkinshaw in the 11th Congressional District, which covers all of Fairfax County.
Learn more about Arthur’s campaign HERE.

Three candidates will head for the Republican primary on August 4 in the 7th Congressional District.
L-R in above photo (Click on name for websites)
Philip Harding
Doug Ollivant
Rick Smithers
Of course, the Dems have endorsed the extremist progressive incumbent Eugene Vindman. Awful!
Early voting for the primary begins June 19! If you live in the 7th CD take note.
| Lefty Alert! Here comes another George Soros Commonwealth’s Attorney Democratic candidate in Loudoun County (and we all know how the last one failed miserably). Ryan Ruzic recently announced he’s seeking the Democratic nomination for the 2027 CA election. Ruzic began in Arlington, is the Chair of Loudoun Democrats and is backed by all the looney-tune progressive Democrats. This one statement on Facebook says it all: “he [Ruzic] spoke about how the legal system has oppressed many poor people while allowing the wealthy to evade accountability.” Enough said. | | |

AROUND NOVA, THE COMMONWEALTH AND THE NATION
TWO CASES OF UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTIONS BY SPANBERGER
- REMOVAL OF VIRGINIA TECH’S RECTOR, AND….
- THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTIONS AGAINST THE SECOND AMENDMENT
| | |
It has never been done before and is really not the “Virginia Way” but Democrats are trashing all our institutions so why not continue to undermine governance at our higher education facilities.
Last Wednesday, for the first time in Virginia history, Spanberger informed Virginia Tech’s Rector, John Rocovich, that she was firing him as the head of the Hokies’ Board of Visitors. She claimed “malfeasance” but failed (as required) to detail, by public notice, the reasons behind her action.
Rocovich immediately responded to Candi King, Spanberger’s Secretary of the Commonwealth, whose office called him about the removal prior to the delivery of Spanberger’s official letter.
Among the quotes from Rector Rocovich’s response, which are included with his full letter (HERE), he stated that Spanberger’s action was:
• “Deeply offensive, legally unsupported”
• “No such grounds” for removal exist
• “I have committed no malfeasance”
Stating there are no grounds for his removal, he went on “I have committed no malfeasance. I have not been derelict in my duties. I have attended meetings, fulfilled my obligations, and acted at all times in the best interests of Virginia Tech,”
As reported in Cardinal News (HERE), this is a political move by the Democrats and again, the “moderate” Spanberger campaigned on a lie. Spanberger stated that “she wanted to take the politics out of such appointments”. Which is total BS since she immediately asked Youngkin appointees to resign from University boards across the Commonwealth.
Another nail in the coffin of the Virginia Way.
| | |
Governor Abigail Spanberger signed into the law last week a ban on future sale and manufacture of certain semi-automatic firearms and magazines holding more than 15 rounds; raised the age of firearm purchase from 18 to 21 and began universal background checks. The law would take effect on July 1.
Lawsuits were immediately filed against the new law by the National Rifle Association, the National Shooting Sports Association, the Second Amendment Foundation and others.
In addition, the new Virginia law is drawing criticism from local sheriffs and Commonwealth’s Attorneys, who say they believe it goes too far and conflicts with the Second Amendment.
Under Virginia law, elected Commonwealth’s Attorneys possess broad charging discretion and can decline to prosecute cases based on their assessment of a law’s constitutionality.
To date, chief prosecutors in Goochland, Powhatan, Pulaski, Scott, Smyth, Spotsylvania, Page and Warren Counties have all announced they will not prosecute violations of the ban.
Page County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Chapman Good (photo above) released his statement HERE detailing the conflict with the US Constitution’s Second Amendment by Spanberger signing the law and instructing law enforcement not to enforce the ban.
Of course, Democratic Attorney General Jay “Shoot them Twice” Jones will fight the lawsuits in court. Stay tuned.

HUMOR OF THE WEEK:
California Passes Law Making It A Crime To Report A Crime
(Satire courtesy of Bablyon Bee)
| | |
SACRAMENTO, CA — In a decisive move toward preventing any citizen journalists from uncovering massive fraud and corruption in the state moving forward, California officially passed a law making it a crime to report a crime.
Following the scandalous evidence of fraud discovered by independent investigative journalist Nick Shirley, California officials vowed to do whatever was necessary to hold Shirley and others like him accountable for their crimes.
“If you report a crime, you’ll do the time,” California Governor Gavin Newsom said at a press conference after the law was passed. “This is California. We simply will not stand idly by and allow people to brazenly uncover criminal activity in our state. Starting immediately, bringing any criminal acts to light will be met with swift justice — for the one reporting it, of course. Not for the criminals, that would be ridiculous.”
Other elected officials in the state remained outraged by the audacity of concerned citizens in their desire to expose wrongdoing and put an end to it. “What gives them the right?” asked Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. “If people in California want to create massive fraud operations designed to illegally siphon hundreds of millions of public money into their own bank accounts, who are we to tell them not to? I, for one, am glad that Governor Newsom and other brave leaders are willing to put a stop to all this ‘reporting crimes’ business. Burn ‘em all, that’s my motto.”
At publishing time, Governor Newsom had proposed reinstituting the death penalty in the state exclusively for anyone who reports a crime.

The mission of the Suburban Virginia Republican Coalition (SUVGOP) is to support Republican candidates and causes rooted in the fundamental, kitchen-table concerns that matter most to voters in Virginia’s suburban communities – family, vocation, community, and faith.
We believe that the Republican Party’s longstanding championship of limited government makes it best suited to lead in the Commonwealth by ensuring that government at all levels — city, county, state, and national — stays focused on its core functions and performs these activities effectively and in a fiscally responsible manner.
We seek to engage suburban voters across Virginia to promote Republican solutions to their concerns. We share these concerns — from taxes, to transportation, to education, to keeping our neighborhoods and schools safe, to rising health care costs, to cultivating a positive civic culture. We want our neighbors to know that the Republican Party cares about the issues most important to them and has thoughtful and innovative approaches to these issues.
We support policies and leadership at all levels of government that reflect America’s great history, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to freedom.
We, the members of the Suburban Virginia Republican Coalition, are Republicans of all ages and backgrounds, united by a commitment to collaboration and dedicated to ensuring that our communities are the best places possible for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. Join us today!
